Where is your identity?

For those of you who do not know about my recent purchase, I have purchased a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 250. It is pictured above. I received it on Saturday after a long day of waiting getting the mirror fixed after it fell in the delivery truck and and assortment of other problems. As you can imagine I am a 19 year old guy who was pretty excited to see my first motorcycle. Well the following day, the day I was supposed to ride it, the storm of a lifetime came. It rained all day. Not that big of a problem until you consider the fact that it turned to snow and proceeded to dump 12 or so inches of snow. Can I remind you all that this is the 16th of April. Absurd I know. So here I am at school looking at feet of snow and thinking of my motorcycle with one mile on it sitting in the garage at home. So it got me thinking about my identity. Why did I so desperately want to ride my ninja, who by the way needs an affectionate name if you have any ideas. Well God convicted or warned me whatever term you want to use that I could let this item become and idol. So I have a motorcycle does that make me successful? Will people think more of me? Did I get this to boost my self esteem? All could be true. Well one thing was for sure I was getting some identity from the bike. God really challenged me with this and I am glad that it was only snow and not me wrecking it that caused me to realize this.
For those of you who ask what is my identity. My identity is tied to Christ. Further Blog reading should show you what that is like.
I am glad to get back on the scene of blogging again.
